I was a Light Infantryman who served 13yrs leaving in 2000 at the request of my wife, who, 14 years later, took her own life.

This event was the start of a downward spiral leading to depression and anxiety. Many years of counselling helped me understand my wife’s death was the catalyst for my Complex PTSD as it uncovered past traumas from my childhood and military career.

Some counselling worked better for me than others … because we are individuals and respond differently. We have to find what works for us, and I did. I am now an advocate for and am training to be a Solution-Focused Therapist, as this helps us look forward, not back.
